About Me

My full name is Kathleen Anne Claire Devore. I am a 19 year old sophomore Psychology major from Trumbull, Connecticut. My native language is English, but I am also fluent in Spanish thanks to many years of classes! To be honest, I am not exactly sure of my career path yet. I have deep roots in Irish Step Dancing and aspire to earn my teaching license (which is no small feat) when I graduate from college. On that note, I was raised by two fully Irish parents, so I am full-blooded Irish myself. I do take pride in my Irish culture and have always associated myself with it through dance. However, I think on top of being Irish, I am also American. I appreciate my roots greatly, but I live, work, and play in America and take part in our society's culture. In that respect, I would consider myself bicultural. Though I was raised Catholic(ish) I do not associate with a particular religion; in fact, I think the concept of organized religion is fairly silly. I am a spiritual being, just like every person on this earth, but I do not feel the need to restrict myself to one limited set of views or belief system. I suppose you could call me an agnostic since I respectfully denounce my Catholic upbringing, or even a mystic since I believe deeply in spiritual energy and fate. In my spare time, which I don't have much of, I prefer to relax with a group of friends. I have a great boyfriend and a large, wonderfully close-knit family whom I love and enjoy spending time with. I teach Irish Step Dancing with my cousin who owns her own Academy in Connecticut (when I can catch a break from schoolwork). I enjoy music (especially in cars), movies, traveling, ethnic food of any kind, and getting to know the people around me because I believe everyone has something valuable to teach, and everyone certainly has room to grow.
